Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology (PSIT) & Pranveer Singh
Academy of Technology (PSAT) jointly
organized its annual Youth-Fest “IGNITIA ’12...the soul extreme”,
on February 16, 17 & 18, 2012.
IGNITIA ’12 was a 3-day fun-filled extravaganza, witnessing a
true blend of talent, mettle, brilliance, enthusiasm, spirit, and pomp &
show among the students from over 50 colleges of the state.
IGNITIA, eventually, has grown to be one of the most
ecstatically awaited campus fests of the state, because of the quality of
events, participation & hospitality extended. Participants from all across
the nation, including those from other G.B.T.U. / M.M.T.U. colleges, different
NITs and IITs, self-financed private Universities, such as, AMITY UNIVERSITY,
set the events ablaze when they battled their brains out to win prizes worth up
to Rupees Four Lac, and other branded Addiction, Reebok, ACC goodies &
merchandise.
What sets IGNITIA
apart from other college fests is its entirely student oriented panorama towards
delivering the maximum at its best. Looking back at the previous years’
success, IGNITIA, the Youth Fest, was back again with more
exciting, electrifying & scintillating events in technical, management,
fashion, gaming world, and a GRAND rock fest, “Autumn Rock.. the battle
of bands”.
With tremendous increase in the
number of participants from all over the country, this year IGNITIA ’12...the
soul extreme showcased more fun, entertainment, exuberance, &
passion, when brains round the corner combated out their skills and took the
festivity to an entirely new advanced level.
We planned out to make IGNITIA
’12...the soul extreme wilder, bigger and more intense than ever, and
fortunately, succeeded in every bit of it. In short, every aspect of IGNITIA
– the crowd, participation, audience, enthusiasm, and passion, is known
for those who promise to take it to new heights. The anticipated THREE DAYS of IGNITIA
’12, as one could imagine of, were enjoyed & put up perfectly as
expected.
All in all, the Dream.. “IGNITIA
’12 ..the soul extreme..”.. lived up to the fullest.
DAY 1 :
The event was inaugurated with a beautiful Ganesh Vandana dance,
choreographed & performed by the two beautiful dancing divas of the
college, Diksha & Pratiksha, pursuing their B.Tech in the EC branch.
The first day of IGNITIA ’12 was named “Techtics”,
which was supposedly designated for the various technical & gaming events
such as Robo-Rage, Robo-War, Junk-D-Punk,
Bridge-It, Live Shocks, NFS-Most Wanted, Counter
Strike, FIFA, etc. The gaming buffs had a great time
playing the games, which included teams from West Bengal, Chandigarh, and
Noida.
There were some intellectual events like A Minute To Win It,
Quizicon, etc., all managed under “Think-Ink” ,
where people showcased their spontaneity & intellect, N-Anchoring,
to judge how perfectly one can present live news report, and Editor’s
Delight, a new & interesting event where the jury had to base their
judgment on how well a news article is written.
The first day marked its end with a GRAND PRO-NITE, which witnessed the
electrifying band from Kolkata of India’s Got Talent fame, the UNDERGROUND
AUTHORITY, sizzle the stage with their spirit, talent, and an entirely
unconventional style of performance.
DAY 2 :
The second day of IGNITIA ’12 was kick started by a
melodious “Acoustic Session”, under the banner of Autumn
Rock PRELIMS. In this session, the participant bands played off their
art primarily based on acoustic guitar. This round turned to be a huge success,
as the bands brought out their best in the least, proving their worth as true
talented beings in their art. The participant bands were as follows :
Saher
Janmoksha
Parindey
Diabolical Damage
Destination
All the bands showcased their brilliance in the form of mesmerizing
music filling the air. The audience joined them with claps & whispers round
the corner. The bands performed various soft numbers such as, Aadat
(Jal), Sufi Tere Pyaar Mein (Jai Veeru), Iktara (Wake
Up Sid), Tumse Hi (Jab We Met), Tum Jo Mil Gaye Ho (Hindi
Rock Style), and many more. But, the ultimate delight to the
connoisseurs was the overall performance of the band from Lucknow, Destination,
which blew away the crowd with their astounding OC “Saawan Aayo”,
and an innovative touch to our very traditional “Vaishnav Jan To”.
This bunch of versatile rock-stars outperformed the others & won the
session, grabbing an acoustic Granda guitar in prize, sponsored
by DAB (Dazzle Association of Bands), New Delhi. The judges for
the session were the pronite celebs, Underground Authority.
The evening session of the day witnessed a cultural fiesta “Moves ‘n’
Rhythms”, in which, participants from various colleges proved their
mettle in the art of singing, dancing & fashion. Singers combated out in “Sing-In”,
dancers in “D-Style”, and fashion freaks in “Fashioneista”.
DAY 3 :
The third & final day saw a blend of various events being conducted
in the morning to noon session, such as Manageria (MBA), Pharmakon
(Pharmacy), Hussain’s Gallery, Let Us C, etc.
The evening session was the icing on the cake
for the spectators, as it was time to witness one of the GRANDEST rock-fests
across the nation, “Autumn Rock”.
The “Autumn Rock”, floating on its
prior success, has eventually turned out to be a battle apt for national
standards and probably one of the biggest ever rock-fests in the nation. This
year too, PSIT | PSAT, summed up together as PSGI, was back with
the much awaited “band war” yet again.
The battle witnessed amazing performances by all the participant bands, Saher
to be the openers, followed by Janmoksha, Destination,
Diabolical Damage, and concluded by Parindey. But,
outperforming all the others at the end, Diabolical Damage,
Lucknow again, proved their mettle & won the battle, taking home a cash
prize worth Rs.25,000/= only, along with the love, appreciation &
cheers of all.
FARIDKOT, a Delhi-based band performing “confused pop”,
HEADLINED as well as judged the battle, marking an end to the celebrations. The
Faridkots are the CHANNEL [V] LAUNCHPAD Winners.
The Faridkots performed their OCs from their debut album “EK”,
recently launched by Times Music, such
as, Laila, Haal-e-Dil, Jashn, Patjhad,
their theme, “Faridkot”, and much more to recon with.
All in all, IGNITIA ’12..the soul extreme, turned out to
be another feather in the cap of PSIT | PSAT, and repeated history of being one
of the best annual Youth-Fests of the time. We here at PSIT | PSAT promise to
add many more colours to the prestige of IGNITIA in the years to
come. Cheers.. \m/
